The cabbage palm flowereth
How I wish I had taken a picture of the cabbage palm's flower in its prime, when the scent drifted through the house and the bees were qeueing up to have a bit of it.
A few weeks on and the scent has faded, the bees have moved on to flowers new and the cabbage palm's bloom is beginning to turn into a tower of seed.
Still, I think this shot gives you an idea of the glory of this flower, and I wanted to record this bieniall event for the blog before I chopped it off and allowed the exhausted palm to breathe a sigh of relief.
